I'm far from the first person to say this but there is a lot of overcompensating that goes on when communists oppose criticisms of specific communist figureheads. Stalin did not personally order the genocide of millions of people but he also wasn't the sole builder of socialism, nor was he the source of every good policy the USSR implemented. Same goes for Mao, Honecker, Lenin, Castro, etc. I don't think I need to harp on about why it's a remain of liberal historiography and ideology, although that should be acknowledged. Following in the same vein as this other post of mine, it constitutes a conscious and prolongued effort as a communist to adopt class, and more generally, a focus on the collective and processes instead of individual actions as the vehicle of your discourse. The better perspective with which to approach criticisms of a single transistor is to recontextualize it within the whole CPU that it's a part of, if you allow me the metaphor. You hinder yourself when you stoop down to the level of great man theory.

Lenin is a particular example because he tends to be great-manned both from the perspective of people criticizing and defending Stalin. He was neither a pure-hearted libertarian who was betrayed after his death by a conniving Stalin who hid Lenin's thought on him and who arrested/killed every other opponent, nor was Stalin a 1:1 replica of Lenin's positions but in a different stage of socialism. In both of these positions the role of the Bolshevik's party mechanisms and channels are completely ignored, as if it was a simple hereditary mechanism. In a democratic centralist organization, the Congress is the supreme organ of decision, and every office, from General Secretary to the base militant, is beholden to its decisions and has the duty to carry them out, as well as to contribute in its democratic process. Lenin was the Chairman of the Council of People's Commissar, sure, and the de facto "leader". The CPC was a mostly executive office, but like any other organ in the CP, it had a decided political role. The Congress is still the highest organ.

In the 13th Congress, when Stalin was elected to the position of General Secretary, there were 748 voting delegates. It is a misrepresentation of democratic-centralist principles to discount or ignore the vote of these 748 delegates. Lenin, as much as he was an important figure, was not the only politically competent communist, nor the only influential one. Never, even during the tensest months of the civil war or the underground work, was Lenin's criteria followed without criticism or input. He wasn't infallible or without fault, anyone can make mistakes or forget to consider some angles. This is also why Lenin was such a respected leader, because he did not govern alone. Stalin also governed like that, quite famously being skilled at listening to a discussion and being able to synthesize everyone's positions into a logical common ground. I am less concerned with what Lenin, at the end of his life, after two gunshots and a few strokes, personally thought of Stalin's aptness for the position, and more concerned with the opinions of those 748 delegates, all taking into account the discussions that took place in every lower organ of the party. What matters is that the party, democratically, elected Stalin to the position multiple times, and that his responsibility in leading cooperatively were proven competent throughout his tenure. Lenin was not an angel, nor the embodied spirit of revolutionary marxism. He was a very skilled and knowledgeable revolutionary whose words are not the gospel. The achievements made by Stalin's collective leadership (plus the entire party!) and the effective advancement of socialism are much more important than Lenin's opinion, as much as we can respect him. He wasn't clairvoyant

Financials

We have reached our Tier 1 goal of $98k and are very close to reaching our Tier 2 goal of $150k! We'd like to thank everybody who has contributed. A majority of the features promised will be implemented sometime after the event, though you can track our progress through our Changelog here.

Extension

Due to unexpected maintenance and the site's partial downtime, we have decided to extend the event until August 3rd at 12:00 PM Mountain Time.

Debug Bar

You may have noticed a debug bar appearing at the bottom of the site on Saturday, July 13th. This was not a security breach and the only sensitive information accessible was the login token of the user currently logged in.

The incident occurred because we brought on the previous contractors (who helped us migrate our servers) to help us evaluate and optimize our new AWS architecture. Unfortunately, they mistakenly installed the debug menu on our production environment, due to a lack of communication on our part.

The IP addresses shown in the debug bar were those of Cloudflare proxy servers rather than user IP addresses, meaning that they could not be used to obtain information about your ISP or physical location. No accounts are at risk and your information was not leaked to other users or Art Fight staff.

We will be implementing measures to prevent this mistake in the future.

i think the year should be split into 13 28-day months with one bonus non-month day at the very end where nobody is allowed to work, including the police, which would effectively make all crime legal.

on leap years this would last two days instead.

the 13th month would be placed between august and september and be called "sextember" because that would be really funny.

additionally, i would shift the start of the calendar year up three months, so that the month numbers of sextember, september, october, november, and december once again align with their names. the fact that this would make april the start of the year is purely a coincidence.

all computers not patched for this new calendar system by the time of its implementation would be destroyed indiscriminately, which would cause a lot of problems that my party will be committed to not solving.

Didn't have much time in April to work on Zorlok with work and life stuff, but I'm gonna soft lock either June or July 13th for the next content update. It won't be all of episode 1 by any means, but I'm hoping to at least let players experience the first night, even if all three plot paths aren't available right away.

Clearly this old lady knows more than Tommy, she might have even known your former self. So, you venture to the shop in an attempt to learn more about yourself and your situation, but it's the middle of the night. How are you gonna get in there? And what are you hoping to learn?

Raid a neighbor's garden for food

Tommy's next door neighbor has a lush garden. Perhaps unsure whether you or the Hound need food, or just wanting some comfort after a traumatic night, you can sneak over and steal some fresh produce. Just be careful not to get caught. That could have consequences ranging from a sleepy introduction to brutal slaughter.

as indulgent to my head-canon about him being absolutely horrible with girls or just in general love, he asks quite literally the only girls he knows. yachi, a cute but honest girl the same age but older than him: you perceive her as a nervous train wreck. that doesn’t stop her from serving looks though! kiyoko, the elder manager on his team who has everyone giving her the hots… and you might be one of them. and last but certainly least, his elder sister. you’ve never met her before so you don’t have much to think about nor say, but have heard quite a lot from your boyfriend. but needless to say, she’s a great person. because of his limit to girl world, he gets limits of advice and hints of what he should and should not be doing in a relationship. (much to his dismay… he only wants to give you the best) with his intention of giving you an unforgettable valentines, he thinks of the most simple but affective way possible! a simple heart shaped box of chocolates with a teddy bear the size of your torso (the same teddy bear he won for you during a hang out with the first years.) (he asked yachi secretly but not so discreetly if he should get it for you for the upcoming event, spoiler alert: she says

“…are you asking a girl out?” Oh, that’s right. He hasn’t introduced you two yet. “uh, yeah.” “…” “…” “how long have you two been going out for?” kageyama sweatdrops and honestly wishes he never asked his sister how to ask a girl out for Valentine’s Day, moreover his own girlfriend.

“that’s besides the point.” she scoffs at her little brother’s attitude, honestly fed up. “okay well… tobio, you should just go with how you feel.” his sister says, after a cold glare. “I promise you, your own girlfriend, highlight on girlfriend, will love anything her own boyfriend gives her on this special day. so don’t sweat over it. you stink when you do.”

and just like that, he settles on it.

he’ll give you a box. a box with photos inside of it that’ll unravel itself in layers when you open the top, as the top descends into jewelry and many trinkets you like. along side a bouquet of your flowers with a big plushie of the cartoon character he never remembered the name of, only the face.

Looking threw the Exedra tag it seems the way things have been done during the Scene 0 update has caused some confusion so I guess I'm gonna make a quick post about them instead of replying to random people.

First and foremost is how Scene 0 itself has been implemented for the time being.

It seems it's been introduced as Event to lower the requirements to access the story for now but it will not be staying in the Event section. In the in-game news post it clarifies it'll be added to the main story section at some undisclosed date instead of the Event Archive.

Next is the change/addition to the new daily Free Fate Weave and how the notification advertised being able to get a free 5☆ key.

The event's Free Fate Weave will actually be giving out Medals like the other Fate Weaves with it's own shop that let's you buy keys (like the Legacy Medal shop) instead of specific characters.

If you're doing your free pulls that's a single medal every day with a total of 31 (maybe 32?) for the entire banner period.

With the costs and stock given that'll be:

15 days for the 5☆ key

15 days for all 3 4☆ keys

10 days for the 5 normal keys

And 5 days for the Cubes

So after you've gotten you 5☆ key on the 13th you'll have to decide on weather you want the 4☆ keys or normal ones. Not much of a decision really...

(EDIT: redoing the math, you may get 1 more medal than I was expecting in those 7 hours after everything refreshes on the final day but before the banner ends so you'd have enough for an extra normal Key instead of wasting your final Medal on a Cube.)

And finally, not something I've seen anyone mention yet but the last time these kinda Missions showed up tied to the Heartphial Quests there was a huge discussion about them all being worthless other than a few.

At the time I decided to work threw the numbers but ultimately gave up on making a post showing what'd actually be worth it depending on how far you were but since I've already done that work I'll just dump that info here now.

First of all, the 4☆ Key and 4☆ Medal are givens.

It starts getting more complicated when you get to the Heartsand and rest.

Uh, or it was last time. I was double checking my math and it seems I don't need to for the Heartsand, instead of the absurdly low quantities they gave us last time, this time it's 8 of the large ones totaling 80k Heartphial EXP which is FAR more than what even the Farris Wheel Nightmare gives in a single fight (almost 26k split across the whole party)

Ok, so, moving on to the rest then.

The remaining 4 Missions will give you 100k, 150k, and 200k EXP and 300 Prism Gems.

You'd basically be trading a Hearphial Quest (5hr 48min) for about 8hr 17min, 12hr 30min, and 16hr 34min worth of EXP and 6hr 13min of Prism Gems if you're at Rank 20 Upgrade Quests.

Ultimately it depends on whether you think that is a good trade or if you're working on getting Heartphial levels for the 4 3☆ that don't have 4☆ versions and still finding how far you can push them.

tldr on the Heartphial Quest Missions. Key, Medal, and Heartsand are more than worth it while the Upgrade Quest rewards are up to you to decide on your own.

Saw a post about Epsiwash and now I genuinely can't get it out of my head again. I mean what do you even do about that. To know someone new so violently and forcefully as if you've known them for years? To be instantly altered practically chemically.

I mean think about A.I implementation for a second. Freelancers "goal" was to create soldiers that functioned simultaneously with A.I

And for both A.I and Agent, idealistically it's something just deeply personal and intimate not even in a romantic sense. In its purest form it's the deepest form of possible connection.

To know not what someone is feeling right now or to know how they felt on their 13th birthday but to feel how they feel. To know deeply each idiosyncrasy like it was your own or rather in tandem to your own. It's frankly a new kind of existence and I fear we don't talk about that enough.

What was it like for an instant to not be alone? To be understood so deeply in seconds, to have everything you were promised. Only to be violated in a way that you'll never be again.

To think Epsilon's absence was probably more heavily felt than his presence.

But I think what I really need to say, that not enough people talk about actually is that they only knew a snapshot of one another. You can have the instructions to a Lego kit, see the picture on the box and still have the pieces to build something completely new.

Just like how although Church may have the same brain as the director he uses it differently.

I think both Wash and Church fall victim to holding the other to that snapshot they have of the other. Or really I guess assuming that they know the other entirely and that neither can change. Whether they realise this or not.

Unrelated but related how devastating is it that even the loving act of knowing someone so truthfully is a horrible reminder of everything taken from you.

Just remembered you've always loved the rain but I can't tell you that because I shouldn't know that.

Because we don't live in a world where you tell me.

Depending on their birth day, there are people who generate ideas and those who bring them to life. This isn’t about "strength" or "weakness" in the usual sense. It’s about different roles in our big world.

"Igniters" (born on the 1st, 10th, 19th, 28th) These guys are like the first ray of sunshine! Leaders, innovators, idea generators. Impulsive, creative, always in motion. They can take someone else’s idea and turn it upside down, creating something completely new. Engines of progress, nothing less! But without those who implement their ideas, they are just a spark.

"Implementation masters" (born on the 2nd, 11th, 20th, 29th) Ideal partners, helpers, those who turn chaos into order. It is they who bring brilliant ideas to perfection. They know how to create comfort and harmony around them. But it’s very important for them not to take on a mountain of responsibility. Otherwise, they risk burning out.

"Inspirers" (born on the 3rd, 12th, 21st, 30th) Creative personalities with incredible charisma. They know how to light a fire in the hearts of others. Often strive for management, capable of creating and leading their own business. But they need depth! It is necessary to find their passion, become an expert in their field – and then the world will be at their feet.

"Strategists" (born on the 4th, 13th, 22nd, 31st) Reliable, persistent, systemic. They prefer a clear plan to impulsivity and chaos. P.s. As a representative of the 4s, I want to add that my main motivators for active work, creating new content for this blog, writing songs and poems (one of my hobbies), are 1s, 3s, and 9s. But the people whose tasks I often finish or whose problems I solve are 7s.

Trost District’s advanced practice had saved their economy from titan invasion years ago, but sadly not every district in Paradis would like to apply it in consideration to the nobilities. In principle, you’d like to have it implemented in the rest of the island whose pride has long belonged in its rich agricultural resources. To know the bounties of Trost to the fullest, you’ll have to live with them for a month!

Lo and behold, you’ll come across the Erwin Smith as one of the residents. You see, he doesn’t talk much to people, let alone from outsiders, but the villagers love him because of his kindness and intelligence; they’re confident that if there’s someone who could help you the most, it’ll be no other than this man. And, strangely so, Erwin welcomed you with open arms the moment he knew of your research.

He doesn’t want the residents to treat you as an inconvenience so as soon as he learns your university isn’t funding student researchers—which makes you lack the resources to rent a dorm in Trost—he gladly opens the spare room he had built inside his cabin at your disposal.

However, amidst the neat and swift arrangement, you can’t help but be bothered because not only is he so kind for reasons you’re yet to unveil, but you are to live with him! A very handsome middle-aged man who is unreasonably single, especially in a period where people as young as sixteen are already bearing children!

Maybe the sheer change the Paradis had become since the walls collapsed has something to do with it?

However, it isn’t long until you’ve learned that he is none but the very commander who had contributed the most for the freedom of Paradis. He suddenly blurts out over breakfast that he was the 13th Commander back in his prime. The 13th commander of the Scout Regiment. You took history classes really well so you know what the 13th commander has done; it’s just that you never remembered his name because as far as you are concerned, the former commander opted not to publish his name in books and told the historians to ensure every contribution of his comrades would be noted instead. Your teachers spoke of him so highly–indeed, an amalgamation of what a real leader must be. 

The way you started shaking over the coffee and bread Erwin had prepared made him panic, “Oh no, was the coffee too strong for your liking? I'm so sorry.”

And when you eventually cry and utter praises and gratitude for serving the country well, he starts laughing—boisterously so. That was sure a laugh he had never done during his prime. 

He then pats your head, “Well, our efforts have never gone to waste because of smart students like you, no?”

To integrate more with the Trost community, Erwin fetches you to other neighbors using his old car every morning (he bought it for a discounted price at an auction—scratch that, the merchant almost gave it to him because he was a huge fan. Had Erwin been a boastful bastard, he wouldn’t even bother paying for it). He says the ride to another farm takes around half an hour, so you two take your time talking about a lot of things. He turns gloomy whenever the topic of being a commander is talked upon, so you’re always sure to stay with the menial—his favorite areas on his lawn, the things he’d like to do in the future to make his little paradise even better to live in, and more. 

Oh, how badly you yearn for a life like his.

And when late afternoon comes, Erwin would pick you up from the neighborhood so you can accompany him to the wet market approximately an hour away. Erwin usually takes this chance to talk to the merchants because he supplies them his harvest at a low price for extra income (what a strategic and simple man he is!) then you two would restock condiments and other needs in the house that his small farm couldn’t provide. The life Erwin has is surely tiring for you who’s basically raised in a highly urbanized area, but that doesn’t mean you don’t enjoy it especially with his company.

One of the best things he has ever shown you is the tiny river surrounded by giant trees where he takes a bath. The scenery makes you feel like some sort of deity in an urban legend; sun would peak behind the leaves and onto the water, then the water would bounce back its light towards your glimmering eyes—full of adoration at god’s creation. The river is quite cold and sometimes the breeze these trees exude freezes your skin, yet it feels so fresh, so pleasing to look at, and you wouldn’t mind if you’re not accustomed to taking a bath in an open area. No reason to be scared, too, as the singing birds and cicadas keep you company. Not far from here, you could also hear Erwin’s daily wood chopping. Of course, he’s just there, ready to rescue you if you slip on the rocks or some intruder tries to come at you.

One of the best tasks he had entrusted you with (which you asserted to be tasked because you couldn’t fathom not paying him rent) is plucking ripe fruits from his farm. In your hometown, every need comes with money, but here, one could survive with just the gifts of land ripened by their hard work.

“It makes your research more valuable, doesn’t it?” Erwin affirms. “Imagine every citizen in Paradis being able to live a life not based on money once the government appreciates agrarian reforms more, given how rich our country is with natural resources.”

The distance you had with him as he intricately teaches you how to cut fruit from its stem, his appreciation for your principles (which students from the urban area often laugh about), and the way his hands brush against yours while he’s correcting your posture because the way of cutting needs to be precise so the stem could still be capable of bearing another fruit—it all fills your heart with sheer warmth. When night comes and you’re alone in your room, you finally deduce what you feel for him—it’s not just mentorship that you want, or his kindness, or even his farm.

You want him as he is. You want to give back all the help he has given you by loving him with all your heart.

As the research is about to end, you realize that you soon will be bidding him farewell to go back to your hometown, to live a boring university life, to take a bath in the constricted bathroom of your dormitory, and to worry about filling money up your sleeves so you could eat instead of just plucking out leaves and straight up cooking it. It fills your heart with sorrow; you hope you can just stay with him.

On one of your final days in Erwin’s house, you wake up with rain so strong tip taps of water can be heard from the roof towards the wooden floor. Erwin knocks and asks if he could fix it as you eat breakfast but as soon as you open the door for him, you start crying.

“I'm sorry, it happens a lot during rainy days. I should've warned you.” Perhaps he’s thinking that an urban girl like you would deem living in this wooden cabin overwhelming, but it’s rather far from it. “I’m thinking of replacing the roof with cement instead of mere iron strips, but I can only do that when summer comes. you might not be here anymore by that time, though.”

“Can I just live here for good? I don’t want to go,” you wail, the attachment and adoration you have for this new friend flowing through your tears. “I want to live here for good!”

“Because you want to witness the renovation of my roof…?”

“No!”

Erwin is surprised at your sudden rise in tone, but eventually he smiles—he smiles despite not understanding it all, “I’ll consider, but only after you let me fix the hole in your room.”

It took you five minutes of wailing (and Erwin’s gentle taps on your shoulder) before you stepped away from the door and let him in, with which he whispered a small praise, “Good girl. Now come on, eat your breakfast and drink your coffee. We’ll talk after I'm done here.”

His voice sounded so warm, deep, and gentle in that particular remark.

You manage to do what he asked of you, albeit with little hiccups. To be honest, had Erwin lacked the academic knowledge to help you finish your research, your stay in his home would’ve lasted longer. but he’s such a smart man—even on par with your actual research professor—that it even makes you wonder if his parents were formerly part of the academy, too.

When Erwin learns of that fact, he laughs in guilt, “I'm sorry! I admit I got too caught up with your research. You should’ve shooed me away when I got too invasive! Is that why you were crying?”

“No! It’s because I want to stay with you longer!” you cry, albeit impulsively, because you are drenched in cold water as soon as you see Erwin’s surprised face.

Nonetheless, he’s able to compose himself, “Seems like you loved living in Trost, hm? It’s okay, you could visit us here even after your research is—”

“I meant you! I want to stay with you specifically!” 

Oh god, did bathing in the river give you a bravado as strong as Erwin’s? You’re not usually this blunt.

“Why, if it’s fine to ask?” Erwin starts, his face more serious this time around, albeit there’s a tinge of expression you couldn’t quite decipher.

You wouldn’t be able to take this back. You wouldn’t be able to take this back. You wouldn’t be able to take this ba— “Because I like you!”

You wouldn’t be able to take that back!

“Oh god,” you covered your face in embarrassment. “I-I’ll be back! I’m sorry!” then you stand up from your seat and hurry towards the door.

You run to the secluded river to wash your face from embarrassment (or perhaps drown in it for good), but after a throaty scream of shame, you notice a presence behind you.

“E-Erwin!” you screech in surprise. “I told you I’ll be back soon!”

“Repeat what you just said.”

“The what?”

“What you said before running off. Repeat it.” 

“Are you angry?” you weakly mutter.

“What? No! I mean—” the unusual stuttering made Erwin chuckle in defeat. “Please, I just want to hear it again.” 

His soft eyes on the ground, one you couldn’t quite decipher earlier, is much more understandable now. It gave you more courage to admit more, “I said I like you.”

“As a host or…?”

The question almost ruins the mood, and yet you think that’s the most adorable Erwin has been since you’ve known him. All this time you thought of him as someone who knew everything astutely.

“What do you mean ‘as a host?’ I know we have a bit of a generational gap but I’m certain what I said was clear enough!”

He walks closer until you’re centimeters apart, eventually he smiles in realization. Then he cups your cheeks and says, “Finish your research and come back here. you’ll hear my answer by then.”

“Huh?” you scorn, “Why don’t you answer now while I’m still—”

A kiss on your forehead cuts you off. It lasts for ten seconds or so—you know because you started counting it out of fluster. While on it, he rubs his thumb on your cheeks in circular motions. hey so I’ve said before I prefer to keep my blog a drama free place but

Oh well. It’s my blog and I can break my own rules as I see fit lol.

My background with Lily Orchard: I had been a fan since about summer 2019 (20 years old, I was born December 12, 1998) and had heard her talk about the various abuse she claims to have gone through throughout her life. With no reason to believe otherwise, I just accepted this. I bought into everything she said when allegations came out against her because I had already anchored my beliefs to things she’d said. It’s hard to dismantle beliefs that are so ingrained in you.

In June 2024 I made a tumblr post asking for actual evidence, and to be fair, I had plenty of people come to me in good faith. Unfortunately, I was unwilling to believe a lot of what I was sent, parroting the same excuses for them I’d heard Lily use. I like to think of myself as someone who’s objective and looks at things from every side, and yeah, I’ll fully admit I was not doing that at all here. I got dunked on a bit, rightfully so.

I was a member of Lily’s Patreon server from June-September 2024 (I only just joined Patreon itself in June 2024). I started as a $1 Patron before bumping up to a $5 Patron for access to the Patron chat. I wouldn’t say I was especially close to Lily, I certainly wasn’t part of her “inner circle”, and got reprimanded by her a few times for various minor things, but ultimately she trusted me enough to let me into the private “server regulars” chat she implemented a week or so before I left.

The first major crack came when she used me venting in her stream chat about my beef with KP as an excuse to drop her and Sai’s full names. I did not at all endorse that and was actually quite pissed at her for doing that. I value my privacy a lot, and I try to extend that courtesy to everyone else I come across online. I’ve got plenty of good friends online and I couldn’t tell you the real-life names of about 90% of them.

Ultimately, the incest game folder was the major incident that got me thinking. She did her best to debunk it, but it was just… such a flimsy excuse? It seemed like she was desperate to cover it up. I don’t know, I’d bought into plenty of things she’d said in the past, but this seemed… unbelievable. So after spending a few days conflicted, I looked back into the evidence I’d been given months prior. And it was… a lot. I lashed out at some people trying to help me during this time, and blocked someone who’d been very cordial to me in DMs. I was stuck. I didn’t know what to believe. I suppose you could say this was my breaking point.

Ultimately the evidence did prove overwhelming, so on September 13th, 2024, I quietly left Lily’s community. No big statement, no fuss, just quietly retracted my Patreon sub, unfollowed on tumblr, and unsubscribed on YouTube. I’ve been quiet for the past month, give or take.

And man, has hindsight been 20/20.

She frames everything as “my boundaries tho” so that she can excuse being rude to her fans. She consistently denies Tara Callie/Stockholm and other wrongdoings without any proof to back up her claims.

I’ve watched KP and Courtney’s videos. I’ve looked at Britt’s evidence. I’ve privately made amends with all three of them.

I had already planned on watching Joon the King’s video when it released. I was a fan of his prior and figured if he was covering Lily… then there must be something I was ignoring.

Part of the reason it can be so difficult to look into Lily’s past is because the resources aren’t neatly gathered in one place. Joon’s video does just that. An easily digestible resource for people to get the gist of who she is.

And I’m sorry to anyone I may have hurt on her behalf. I am not claiming to be innocent here, I knowingly dug my heels in while claiming to want evidence, and then refused to look at it. I’m sorry for the rancid shit I’ve said and done to people in defense of Lily.

But I’ve opened my eyes. I’ve stopped hiding from the truth.

I’m not going to discuss this further, as I’ve said I prefer to keep my blog a fairly lighthearted place for me to hyperfixate and shitpost. I’m not interested in dunking on Lily or harassing her (please don’t harass her), but just being transparent and letting everyone know where I stand as of right now. This needed to be said eventually.

Native American Enslavement in Colonial America

Slavery was practiced by the Native Americans before any Europeans arrived in the region. People of one tribe could be taken by another for a variety of reasons but, whatever the reason, it was understood that the enslaved had done something – staked himself in a gamble and lost or allowed himself to be captured – to warrant such treatment.

This model changed with the arrival of the Spanish in the West Indies in 1492 and their colonization of that region, South, and Central America throughout the 16th century. Native Americans were then enslaved simply for being Native Americans. In North America, after the English arrived, Native Americans were at first enslaved as prisoners of war but, eventually, were taken and sold to plantations in the West Indies to clear the land for expansion of English colonies.

This practice continued throughout the colonial era aided and encouraged by Native American tribes themselves up through 1750 and, after the American War of Independence (1775-1783), natives were pushed into the interior as African slavery became more lucrative. Even so, the enslavement of Native Americans continued even after slavery was abolished by the 13th Amendment to the Constitution in 1865. Americans got around illegal enslavement of natives by calling it by other names and justified it in the interests of "civilizing the savages". The practice continued up through 1900, dramatically impacting Native American cultures, languages, and development.

Native American Slavery & Columbus

Native American tribes were incredibly diverse, each with their own culture, and far from the cohesive, unified civilization they are often represented as under the umbrella term "Native American" or "American Indian". Each tribe understood itself as inherently superior to others and although they would form alliances for short periods in a common cause, or for longer periods as confederacies, they frequently warred with each other for goods, in the name of tribal honor, and for captives, among other reasons.

Men, women, and children taken captive were then enslaved by the victorious tribe, sometimes for life and other times for a given number of years and, in still other cases, until they were adopted and became members of the tribe. People could also be enslaved as hostages, held to ensure compliance with a treaty, and in some tribes, people were not only enslaved for life but any children born to them were also considered slaves, thereby creating a slave class long before the arrival of Europeans.

This model changed after the arrival of Christopher Columbus (l. 1451-1506) in the West Indies in 1492 and the Portuguese in 1500. Columbus kidnapped natives he brought back to Spain as slaves on his first voyage and sent over 500 back on his second. Between 1493-1496, he implemented the encomienda system, which institutionalized Native American enslavement throughout the Spanish colonies of the New World, and, by the time the French, Dutch, and English began colonizing North America, the Transatlantic Slave Trade was already established.

2025 Cancer First Quarter Moon

The key phrases for the First Quarter lunar phase are “take action” and “build new structures to support our intentions.”

Now that we’re finally out of the shadow of the eclipse, we’re ready to rock…. Or are we? Mercury is still retrograde until next Monday the 7th (11:08 UTC), and Venus is still retrograde until next Sunday the 13th (01:08 UTC, 40 minutes after the Libra Full Moon matures). Those are two cautions about still taking it slowly for the next week.

What we do have going for us, is that Mars is in direct motion. Not quite time, yet, for the new study program or the new art project; but we can implement a sensible diet and exercise plan. The Moon is applying a conjunction to Mars, which makes it even more prudent (and probably unavoidable). If we can go into it with the intention of becoming healthier and stronger - therefore better capable of protecting our loved ones - we can have a solid start to build on.

The Aries Sun is at the midpoint of a trine between Pallas/Aquarius and Jupiter/Gemini. Lots of good strategic ideas, and (for once!) the willpower to act on them.

While the Moon remains in Cancer, the aspects are mostly good. The transit closes with an Opportunity Period between 19:49 UTC on Saturday, and 04:34 UTC on Sunday, “good for just about anything, from business to deep romance” - though remember, Mercury and Venus are still retrograde.

The Moon enters Leo on Sunday the 6th, at 04:34 UTC. This is a terrific time to get moving on our intentions, as the Moon will sextile the Sun/Aries and trine Jupiter/Gemini. Willpower and luck!

Exciting news, everyone! I have officially finished the orphan background. I still need to check for grammar and a few other things but the first draft is complete. I will have some people check it over the next few days and then code it into the game.

I should be releasing the update on Friday, the 13th of December. I would suggest restarting the game or using a save file from the prologue. I am going to be tweaking quite a few variables and maybe some scenes in chapter one in preparation for chapter two.

I apologise for forcing you to restart the game/chapter one but I really believe it would be for the best as right now a lot of variables were not properly implemented and it could greatly reduce your enjoyment in chapter two.

I promise to be better going forward to stop things like this happening again.

Once I have uploaded the update, I will focus on chapter two. I am not sure I will have a large release at the end of December but I will definitely free you all from the current cliffhanger.

Hi! I reposted almost all my coming out lore theories so if you do have the time to scroll through my feed you will find them all! I would absolutely restate everything but it is a LOTTTTTT there is so many moving parts and sub groups of interconnecting theories. However, I will briefly summarize current and touch on New Romantics.

I'm still a firm believer in Dec 13th coming out on her birthday. I have thought for some time it'll be the Reputation TV release with KARma as the vault tracks (KARma the album will be how she comes out initially, it is explicity about KARlie and that is why she was not allowed to release it in 2016, instead we got tracks born from Karma which is why Rep is her shortest album to date only 15 tracks. It will be the full album and likely be rock of some kind in honor of Carly Simon and all of that implemented lore, which there is a ENTIRE rabbit hole of Carly Simon and James Taylor/James Hart but that's for another time, but she tested this type of album structure with TTPD / The Anthology)

Right now the storyline is the Wizard of Oz, the yellow brick road, with the destination being emerald city. I believe she will arrive at the emerald city a day after the final eras tour date, Dec 9th, which is also the first day after she ghosts a Chiefs home game for the first time. If you look at the eras dates compared to home game dates, she has always planned around them, even in upcoming, just 1 day off, but Dec 8th she directly overrid that game, that's her goodbye to "Kansas" bcuz in this story, she wants to stay in Oz. Oz is the secret garden in her mind, the planet where they can all understand it, the great escape. And she is the Wizard behind the curtain. The Wizard doesn't leave Oz. As the story goes, after arriving at Emerald City, the curtain is pulled on the Wizard revealing that the Wizard was entirely something and someone different than the initial facade, the brand facade. So that would allign with Dec 9th, emerald city, Dec 13th, curtain pulled.

I think at first Taylor will let the music speak for itself, then release a statement in the coming days. But the actual public step into the daylight WITH Karlie will be a little longer. I don't have a specific date for that at this time, but I wouldn't think too much longer after. Time will tell

I have a whole Bejeweled theory too that explains this same timeline with "she ghosted" and everything that is worth the read! I'll repost my older theories as well after this that are not on my feed currently.

As far as New Romantics project, yes this is absolutely happening. This is the Chely Wright prophecy. It starts with Taylor and she has to be the big name to lead it, but it does not nearly end with her, there will be many coming outs. There is a common misconception in the industry in terms of what it means to be out. Even celebs who were able to come out as LGBTQ+ are not out in the way they want to be. You'll notice even those people do not have queer public relationships. They can be explicity writing in their music that they are in one and yet they are still not allowed to go out in public and hold their lovers hand in front of the cameras. Some queer celebs aren't allowed to come out in any way shape or form, others can but only to an extent, but the one that remains consistent is that majority cannot have a public queer love relationship, and THAT is the major break out. So don't just expect to see confirmation of labels, expect to see confirmation of muses.

The reason this takes a big name like Taylor to initiate it, like Chely Wright said, is because of how many queer celebs are afraid and don't have the power to do it on their own and withstand not losing their career within the industry. So someone who is a huge world wide name must first set the precedent and normalize this. The world must understand queer love is not only normal in general, but it is extremely normal in the celebrity scene. And this is specifically how Chely Wright said it must be done. "I'm gay. And I'm normal."

So yes, that is honestly only scratching the surface but that's my best way to sum up the main events going on right now. Please feel free to ask any further questions, and as I mentioned my in depth takes of each component and more will be on my feed for all to read!
